A creator audience is not automatically a customer audience

Enormous reach makes the top of the funnel easy and gives you a false read on everything below it.

When an artist or creator has tens of millions of followers, awareness is solved. That sounds like an advantage, and it is, but it hides the actual problem: an audience that watches everything you make will not necessarily pre-save, buy a ticket or place an order.

[ 01 ]Segment the following

The follower base is not one audience. There is a core that will convert on announcement, a much larger passive tier that needs several exposures and a specific reason, and a segment that is there for the personality and will never convert on the product. Spending against all three identically wastes most of the budget on the third.

[ 02 ]Capture intent early

On the Dissimulation campaign, pre-saves were the mechanism that turned passive reach into a measurable commitment well ahead of release week. 50,000+ pre-saves gave the release-week push a warm, known audience to convert rather than a cold one to persuade — which is a large part of how the album landed at #2 in the UK.

Reach gets you the meeting. Structure is what converts it.
